Dr. Helen Stagg is a Chancellor’s Fellow at the University of Edinburgh and Tuberculosis Lead for the Usher Institute of Population Health Sciences and Informatics. Dr. Stagg is an epidemiologist who initially trained at the University of Cambridge in the life sciences and later at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM). In addition to her Edinburgh post, she also holds an Honorary Senior Lectureship at University College London (UCL) and an Honorary Associate Professorship at LSHTM. Dr. Stagg’s group is focussed on applying different quantitative methodology frameworks (epidemiology, statistics, pharmacological modelling, mathematical modelling, bioinformatics) to provide a scientific evidence base to unanswered or neglected questions in infectious disease epidemiology. Programmes of work Our four main programmes of current work are: Treatment adherence in chronic diseases Treatment optimisation in tuberculosis Antimicrobial resistance Epstein Barr Virus Partners We work with behavioural science, industry, health service, third sector, and national and international policy-making colleagues in order to ensure the maximal impact of our work.
