Welcome to the new Wellcome Trust PhD students

October 2024: At the start of this month 13 new students began their studies on two Wellcome Trust PhD programmes addressing One Health Models Disease, and Hosts, Pathogens and Global Health.

One Health Models of Disease

We are delighted to have six new members of the One Health Models Diseases PhD programme.

They are the fifth cohort of students, and are currently all based at the Roslin Institute at Easter Bush.  The programme has started with an introductory course in Animal Models and Genome Modification, before moving to the first of two mini-projects in November.

The students come from a wide variety of backgrounds and disciplines, bringing a rich range experiences to share with the other members of the programme.

Teagwen Cameron (UK) - Microbiology

Mona Guo (China) - Parmaceutical Sciences and Stem Cells

Ximena Fernandez Hual (Peru) - Bioengineering

Llona Kavege (Togo) - Biology and Bioethics

Silken Tschofen (Canada) - Microbiology
