Please complete all application processes by Friday 16 January 2026, for entry in October in 2026.

Summary of what you need to do

  1. Select project from list offered
  2. Contact primary supervisor of selected project to discuss your interests
  3. Complete online application form by closing date - see below
  4. Complete anonymous demography form
  5. Send supporting documents to Edinburgh Infectious Diseases by email
  6. Ensure referees complete reference form by closing date

Demography form

Please complete the demography form.  The information you supply will not affect judgements about your academic suitability in any way, and will be treated in the strictest confidence.  

The University collects the data in this section for equal opportunities monitoring, both within the University and nationally by government agencies such as the Scottish Funding Council and the Higher Education Statistics Agency.


Supporting documents required

Please submit your supporting documents via email by the closing date.

  1. Standard Curriculum vitae
  2. Academic transcripts of first degree courses (and second degree if applicable) - all transcripts should be provided in English - an official translation should be provided if necessary.
  3. Copies of degree certificates with final classification - an official translation should be provided if necessary

References

All applicants should give the names of two academic referees on their application form. 

It is the applicant's responsibility to contact each of their referees and ask them to complete and submit the reference form that is available at the link below.

The completed reference forms must be received by Friday 16 January 2026 at 12 noon.

Arrangements for candidate interviews

Interviews will be held on Monday 23 February 2026.  

It is likley that the interviews will be online - furhter details will be avaialble nearer the time.
